WELCOME TO LUCKY LAND

This first season presents a series of portraits of the inhabitants of Lucky Land, a small imaginary city located in the north of the Republic of Luzbekistan.

Chapter 1: Bolt Barber Shop

The barbershop is a family business that has been in the Bolt family for four generations and has been in operation for more than 40 years. Grandpa Marcus Bolt came to Lucky Land when he was 20 years old looking for better opportunities for his family in Jamaica. It is interesting to see how the story of the Bolt family and their immigration to Lucky Land has been intertwined with the history of the barbershop and its presence in the community for so many years. The Bolt family barbershop is not only a place where people get haircuts, but also a place where people gather and socialize. For example, some clients may come just to chat and hang out, even if they don't need a haircut right now.

Chapter 2: Bar of Broken Dreams

Series of portraits of the owner, waitresses and customers of the Bar de los Sueños Rotos. This bar is a unique place in the world. The owner of the bar is psychologist Olga Ivanov who has created a safe and welcoming environment for her clients, all over 80 years old, who have turned it into an ideal place to reflect and talk about the past, present and unfulfilled dreams. The waitresses are psychology students, who bring a unique and valuable perspective to the conversations that take place at the bar. It is very common to see the owner of the bar and the waitresses sitting talking with one of their customers.
Chapter 3: Kobayashi Restaurant

It is an izakaya (typical Japanese bar or restaurant) specially designed for children to enjoy a unique culinary experience. The Kobayashi family is personally in charge of cooking and serving their little customers. His daughter and son chefs specialize in preparing sushi, tempura, ramen and other traditional Japanese dishes. In addition, the restaurant's decoration is sober, with many elements of Japanese culture that attract children's attention. The owners of this restaurant make sure that the ingredients used are fresh and of high quality, to ensure that the dishes are healthy and delicious at the same time. The atmosphere in the restaurant is friendly and welcoming, and the Kobayashi family makes sure that each child receives the attention they deserve. They also organize cooking workshops for children, where they can learn to make sushi and other dishes under the supervision of professional chefs.
